The dangles drop about 1 1/4”from the ear.  These earrings have a lucious freshwater Baroque pearl suspended from the hand formed swirls.  The artist carefully pairs the pearls so they are as similar as possible given their Baroque nature. Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The wire is Argentium silver.

I'm already very careful with where I source my metals and stones (fair trade/sustainably mined) and realize I have a gold mine in my own studio! I'm challenging myself to think responsibly and source from ESN Studio.

These earrings feature some of my favorite carved turquoise stones with faceted peridots dangling below. They are just under 1 1/2” from the top of the earwire.

The cora has a natural, porous surface and may vary from piece to piece. This 14k goldfill necklace features faceted citrine, smoky quartz, freshwater pearls, and shades of carnelian gemstones. It has a 14k goldfill lobster claw which will clasp the chain up to 19” long. It can also be shorter - for instance 16”” or 17” long.

Encapsulated Bald-faced Hornet silver necklace

The Bug Collection

There are not many creatures in nature who are essential to the survival of our species and agriculture, but the bees and other pollinators are. With so many diminishing populations of bees, what better way to celebrate their vital role in our ecosystem than a beautiful necklace that is bound to spark questions. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. You can read more about how to save our bees by taking a look at some non-profits involved in raising awareness about our vanishing bees including the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign, Asheville's Honey Bee Health Improvement Project, and Avaaz. 

The Bald-faced Hornet pendant hangs from a 26 1/2" chain. The hornet and ring drop 3" from the silver chain. The hornet pendant itself is 1 1/4" by 7/8" and is 1/2" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. This hornet was collected from our organic garden in Atlanta, GA. Each summer the Bald-faced Hornets build a huge paper nest in one of our oak trees. I think the white dots on this delicate creature make it one of the prettiest I've seen. The model is wearing another necklace from this collection.

The precious creature encapsulated in the clear resin of this necklace is a reminder of moments that have come and gone -- intricate, interconnected and irreplaceable. A friend in Atlanta has bees in her organic garden, and I asked her to save the bees that die of natural causes. She laughed, "I've never been asked that before!" I love being able to celebrate this beautiful creature with a one of a kind necklace. This bee was collected from our organic garden in Atlanta, GA. Found (dead) in our Atlanta backyard, this Cotinis Nitida necklace is made of Argentium silver, has a handcrafted toggle clasp, and hangs from an 18 1/2" chain.  The pendant itself is 1 1/4" tall, just over 1" wide, and is 3/4" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. Why bugs? My kids love to collect dead bugs and cicada shells for my "jewelry project," and I love these well-earned treasures. The Bug Collection

Growing up in the southern US, summer evenings were filled with the sounds of cicadas singing at night and chasing lightning bugs (yes, I know other people call them fireflies). I loved hunting for the cicada shells in the morning on the pine trees where they shed their larval stage shell and flew into the night. My own kids love to collect cicada shells for my "jewelry project," and I love these well-earned treasures. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. I feel the same way about the cicadas. Their summer song delights us and I love honoring them with a necklace.

The cicada shell necklace hangs from a 27" chain. The cicada and ring drop 2 1/2"" from the silver chain. The cicada pendant itself measures 1" by 13/16" and is 1/2" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. Blue druzy slice- This beautiful blue druzy is framed in goldplate. What is a druzy? It is the glittering effect tiny crystals have when they are spread over the surface of a stone. Druzies occur naturally in minerals like amethyst, chalcedony, agate, calcite- the list goes on!! Because each stone is natural, each one is unique and may vary slightly.

Full Eclipse necklace with turritella agate

Handsmithed Argentium silver necklace.  The largest Eclipse is 1 3/4" in diameter with a toggle clasp.  The necklace hangs about 20" but the toggle can be adjusted to shorted.  The asymmetry of the Eclipse pieces creates interest, and the highlighted piece of turritella agate is just cool.  What is turritella agate? For all who crave a bit of science in their day, turritella agate is formed from fossilized Elimia Tenera which were freshwater gastropods.

Hammered Cross Bangle in 14K goldfill

What is really fun for me as an artist is to work with someone and come up with a completely new design! This cross bangles was created after several conversations with the delightful Emily Dinwiddie who writes Eleven Gables. She suggested a cross bangle that is "simple & affordable so that people can add more for their jingle. It's all about the stacked bracelet look." Perfect! 

Simple and elegant, the bangle features the beautiful budded cross which symbolizes the Trinity (or the 12 Apostles, depending on the history you choose). The budded cross may have its roots in early Celtic Druidry in which the 3 circles symbolized the sky, earth, and sea. The handstamped metal circle is soldered to the top of the bangle which has been hammered by hand. The resulting texture adds contrast to the smooth round of the other side. Choose a personalized bangle from The Name Collection to add to your stack! 

Because these are custom items, you can personalize the flat disc any way you would like. Graduation dates, birthdates, significant numbers or symbols... so many possibilities!

What is really fun for me as an artist is to work with someone and come up with a completely new design! This cross bangles was created after several conversations with the delightful Emily Dinwiddie who writes Eleven Gables. She suggested a cross bangle that is "simple & affordable so that people can add more for their jingle. It's all about the stacked bracelet look." Perfect! 

Simple and elegant, the bangle features the beautiful budded cross which symbolizes the Trinity (or the 12 Apostles, depending on the history you choose). The budded cross may have its roots in early Celtic Druidry in which the 3 circles symbolized the sky, earth, and sea. The handstamped metal circle is soldered to the top of the bangle which has been hammered by hand. The resulting texture adds contrast to the smooth round of the other side. It should seem obvious to have a bangle recognizing what so many of our friends struggling with something that requires a ribbon emblem. Instead, it took 2 dear friends (they are patrons, really) to ask about a ribbon symbol for a 3rd friend diagnosed with breast cancer. In honor of our mutual friend, a portion of each of these bangles sold will benefit https://myturningpoint.org in Atlanta.

The ribbon as a symbol raises awareness about a particular cause or health issue. Many of us are familiar with the pink breast cancer ribbon, the purple ribbon for Alzheimer’s disease, yellow ribbons for family members serving in the military overseas, and AIDS awareness. The first yellow ribbon was hung around trees in the 1970s by Penney Laingen whose husband was a hostage in Iran. Next was the red ribbon worn by Jeremy Irons for AIDS awareness. And one of the most iconic is the pink ribbon used as a show of support for those with breast cancer.

A perennial ESN Artisan Jewelry favorite, these silver bangles are simple and perfect for layering on your wrist. Made of square Argentium silver wire, each bangle can be shaped into a square or an oval. The oval is always a popular shape. The square adds variety to the bangles on your arm, plus this shape feels "smaller" for those with who don't want too much extra dangling around their wrist. Inspired by an anniversary gift many years ago, these Knots of Love earrings are lightweight and eye-catching. Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 1/2" from the ear. Each pair of earrings is handcrafted by the artist and is not just a bunch of purchased components wired together. The gold wire is 14K gold-fill. 

Stone choices

Blue Chalcedony- Topped by a faceted bright blue chalcedony stone, these earrings have two loops showcasing the Twizzle swirl. 

Ruby- The coin shaped ruby is edged in gold plate and is a wonderful deep raspberry color.

Labradorite- The slice of labradorite edged in gold plate has a beautiful shimmer with flashes of blue, green, pink, and black.

Pyrite- Pyrite is a tough stone to photograph but the color is an earthy neutral with just a hint of green and shimmers of gold. The pyrite slice is edged in goldplate.

Twizzle

Lemon Quartz Goldfill Swirl Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  These earrings have a beautifully clear piece of lemon quartz stone suspended from the hand formed swirls. Because I’m a bit of a bead hoarder (#beadaddict 🙋‍♀️), I’ve had these gorgeous stones saved for something special for years. The “special” is these earrings! They have a unique barrel facet and are quite elegant. We try to put together the most similar stones and swirls to form a pair.  Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The gold wire is 14K gold-fill. Nepalese Silver Necklace

This past summer, I met this wonderful man at a gem show. His parents were Tibetan but moved to Nepal when China took over in the 50s. He grew up in Nepal and sources beads from the artists there on his trips back. Karma was part of his name and it fit him perfectly.

I’ve paired these Nepalese beads with aventurine, turquoise, and faceted aquamarine stones. The length is variable and can be as short as 25” or as long as 36”.

Recently, I looked around the studio and took stock of how many gemstones, half-finished silver components, and gorgeous beads are neatly in boxes. Just sitting there. They deserve to be made into jewelry and their beauty celebrated! I'm already very careful with where I source my metals and stones (fair trade/sustainably mined) and realize I have a gold mine in my own studio! I'm challenging myself to think responsibly and source from ESN Studio.

Why is the bangle with 18K dot more expensive?  First, there is the actual cost of gold. Second, each gold dot is cut from wire, torched into a ball, and then flattened. FAQ- Why are the narrower 1/8" bangles the same price as the 1/4" bangles? Because I use a heavier gauge metal for the narrow bangles, so the material cost winds up being about the same. Plus, the cost is really for all the labor involved in making your perfect, handcrafted bangle :)

Our turnaround time is generally 2 weeks. Please note that each of these necklaces and bangles are crafted by hand, letter by letter, which takes a little bit of time...  But depending on the kids' schedules, the bangles can sometimes be made faster. FAQ- Why are the narrower 1/8" bangles the same price as the 1/4" bangles? Because I use a heavier gauge metal for the narrow bangles, so the material cost winds up being about the same. Plus, the cost is really for all the labor involved in making your perfect, handcrafted bangle :)

Personalized silver Bespoke Bangle

AFTER each personalized order, the artist will send you a personal email confirming details about the personalization. There is not a way to specify names and such on the website order page. But don't worry! English will email you!

A perfect gift for any mother or grandmother- children's names stamped into a delightful, bespoke all silver bangle.  Each letter is individually stamped resulting in a bracelet that is charming in its simplicity and imperfection. This is the original Bespoke Bangle crafted of ethically sourced metal. It is a solid metal bangle and will not fall off your wrist like a cuff or clasp bangle might.

Prehnite Goldfill Swirl Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 1/2" from the ear.  These earrings have a beautifully faceted prehnite stone dangling from the swirl. Pyrite Slice Goldfill Swirl Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  These earrings have a slice of highly polished pyrite stone suspended from the hand formed swirls.  The pyrite is edged in gold-plate and is a perfect neutral to add pizazz to your wardrobe. The stones are natural and may vary from stone to stone. We try to put together the most similar stones and swirls to form a pair.  Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The gold wire is 14K gold-fill.

SCOTUS's decision has left women at the mercy of their state's whims. Many of us feel rageful, devastated, and desperate. But one small thing I can do is made jewelry that means something and donate a portion to those trying to get voters in the voter booth.
