Smoky quartz forged Twizzle Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  The Argentium silver wire is forged and hammmered and suspends two trilliant cut pyrite stones and one cushion faceted smoky quartz.

What is a druzy? It is the glittering effect tiny crystals have when they are spread over the surface of a stone. Druzies occur naturally in minerals like amethyst, chalcedony, agate, calcite- the list goes on!! Because each stone is natural, each one is unique and may vary slightly.

Each piece in this collection is a delightful combination of semiprecious stones and “twizzles” of silver or gold. What’s a twizzle? It’s a fantastic, funky shape that is created when silver or gold is forged, formed, hammered, smithed, and soldered with great imagination to create a unique work of art.

My childhood is full of wonderful memories going to the beaches in North and South Carolina. Anything beach themed draws me in. I love this Thai Hill Tribe Silver conch! Abalone shell has a shimmer that goes with every color in your wardrobe, even khaki! While the model is wearing a different necklaces, the length (21”) and effect are about the same.

Recently, I looked around the studio and took stock of how many gemstones, half-finished silver components, and gorgeous beads are neatly in boxes. Just sitting there. They deserve to be made into jewelry and their beauty celebrated! I'm already very careful with where I source my metals and stones (fair trade/sustainably mined) and realize I have a gold mine in my own studio! I'm challenging myself to think responsibly and source from ESN Studio.

I think about bees often as their numbers diminish in our world.  This bee quote is fantastic on many levels and not just about the bee that flies!  Each letter is individually stamped resulting in a bracelet that is charming in it's simplicity and imperfection.  The slightly oval circumference measures 8" which fits most wrist sizes.

Born in 1861, Rabindranath Tagore won the Nobel Prize in literature in 1913.  I find his quote interesting, simple, and often profound.  Each letter is individually stamped resulting in a bracelet that is charming in its simplicity and imperfection.  The slightly oval circumference measures 8" which fits most wrist sizes.  This bracelet has a butterfly charm soldered onto the bangle (closeup in photos).

This 14k goldfill necklace features faceted aquamarine, abalone shell, turquoise, prasiolite, and blue topaz gemstones. It has a 14k goldfill lobster claw which will clasp the chain up to 19” long. It can also be shorter - for instance 16”” or 17” long.

SCOTUS's decision has left women at the mercy of their state's whims. Many of us feel rageful, devastated, and desperate. But one small thing I can do is made jewelry that means something and donate a portion to those trying to get voters in the voter booth. 

As with much of ESN Artisan Jewelry's pieces, this pendant has meaning. As I was designing this piece, I thought of several things:

1. Black for mourning what we have lost.

2. All caps to show our screaming.

We applaud the three rock solid justices standing up for our rights saying, WE DISSENT.
