Shooting stars in the sky are unique, glimmering, and breathtaking occurrences- just like this necklace. Perfect for everyday wear or able to leap into nighttime dazzle, this 14K gold-fill necklace has movement and texture. Wear alone or layer with another necklace.  The hand-hammered and hand-smithed oval connects the 24" 14K gold-fill chain and easily slips over the head. The oval link looks great in the front or adjusted to the side for a snazzy asymmetric look. Versatility- bonus!

A very little key...

A perfect quote to remember that even the smallest of gestures can have a great impact. The key is "drawn" with a combination of stamps to create a unique design.  Each letter is individually stamped resulting in a bracelet that is charming in its simplicity and imperfection.  The slightly oval circumference measures just over 8" which fits most wrist sizes.  This bangle is slightly narrower than our stander 1/4" Bespoke bangles.

Bangle expansion to add a link in silver

As I mention on the About Us page, we try hard to get the size right for the bangles. Sizing down a bangle takes time but it is nothing compared to expanding a bangle. Expanding a bangle entails deconstructing the bangle, resanding, adding the link, resoldering the bangle together, reshaping, resanding, and repolishing. Plus there is the expense of the additional material added to the bangle. This is really just a nominal charge and doesn't really cover the time it takes to expand... Let's try our best to get the bangle size correct:) If it must be expanded, English can add a link to the bangle, but this can only work with the silver options. The 14K goldfill bangle cannot be expanded without damaging the gold surface.

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  These Twizzles are a slightly smaller and lighter weight version than our popular Twizzle Collection. The dangles drop about 1 1/4”from the ear.  These earrings have a lucious freshwater Baroque pearl suspended from the hand formed swirls.  The artist carefully pairs the pearls so they are as similar as possible given their Baroque nature. Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The wire is Argentium silver.

I'm already very careful with where I source my metals and stones (fair trade/sustainably mined) and realize I have a gold mine in my own studio! I'm challenging myself to think responsibly and source from ESN Studio.

These earrings feature some of my favorite carved turquoise stones with faceted peridots dangling below. They are just under 1 1/2” from the top of the earwire.

Encapsulated Bald-faced Hornet silver necklace

The Bug Collection

There are not many creatures in nature who are essential to the survival of our species and agriculture, but the bees and other pollinators are. With so many diminishing populations of bees, what better way to celebrate their vital role in our ecosystem than a beautiful necklace that is bound to spark questions. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. You can read more about how to save our bees by taking a look at some non-profits involved in raising awareness about our vanishing bees including the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign, Asheville's Honey Bee Health Improvement Project, and Avaaz. 

The Bald-faced Hornet pendant hangs from a 26 1/2" chain. The hornet and ring drop 3" from the silver chain. The hornet pendant itself is 1 1/4" by 7/8" and is 1/2" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. This hornet was collected from our organic garden in Atlanta, GA. Each summer the Bald-faced Hornets build a huge paper nest in one of our oak trees. I think the white dots on this delicate creature make it one of the prettiest I've seen. The model is wearing another necklace from this collection.

The precious creature encapsulated in the clear resin of this necklace is a reminder of moments that have come and gone -- intricate, interconnected and irreplaceable. Encapsulated June Beetle silver necklace

The Bug Collection

Each piece in The Bug Collection is truly one of a kind. The handcrafted June beetle necklace is no exception. Found (dead) in our Atlanta backyard, this Cotinis Nitida necklace is made of Argentium silver, has a handcrafted toggle clasp, and hangs from an 18 1/2" chain.  The pendant itself is 1 1/4" tall, just over 1" wide, and is 3/4" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. The model is wearing another necklace from this collection. 

Why bugs? My kids love to collect dead bugs and cicada shells for my "jewelry project," and I love these well-earned treasures. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. It is rare to find a June beetle in our backyard, but the shimmering green beauty is worth preserving and celebrating with a necklace.

The Bug Collection

Growing up in the southern US, summer evenings were filled with the sounds of cicadas singing at night and chasing lightning bugs (yes, I know other people call them fireflies). I loved hunting for the cicada shells in the morning on the pine trees where they shed their larval stage shell and flew into the night. My own kids love to collect cicada shells for my "jewelry project," and I love these well-earned treasures. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. I feel the same way about the cicadas. Their summer song delights us and I love honoring them with a necklace.

The cicada shell necklace hangs from a 27" chain. The cicada and ring drop 2 1/2"" from the silver chain. The cicada pendant itself measures 1" by 13/16" and is 1/2" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. This cicada was found by my children in our organic garden in Atlanta, GA. The model is wearing another necklace from this collection. (In the photos with 2 necklaces, this necklace is on the left).

Forged Twizzle Earrings with stone drops

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  The 14k goldfill wire is forged and hammered and suspends a beautiful stone. 

Stone Choices

Blue druzy slice- This beautiful blue druzy is framed in goldplate. What is a druzy? It is the glittering effect tiny crystals have when they are spread over the surface of a stone. Druzies occur naturally in minerals like amethyst, chalcedony, agate, calcite- the list goes on!! Because each stone is natural, each one is unique and may vary slightly. 

Blue chalcedony- beautiful faceted medium blue chalcedony round stone nestled between two vermeil Bali beads.

Clear quartz- faceted quartz stone nestled between two vermeil Bali beads. The result is elegant and will go with everything in your wardrobe.

Full Eclipse necklace with turritella agate

Handsmithed Argentium silver necklace.  The largest Eclipse is 1 3/4" in diameter with a toggle clasp.  The necklace hangs about 20" but the toggle can be adjusted to shorted.  The asymmetry of the Eclipse pieces creates interest, and the highlighted piece of turritella agate is just cool.  What is turritella agate? For all who crave a bit of science in their day, turritella agate is formed from fossilized Elimia Tenera which were freshwater gastropods.

Hammered Cross Bangle in 14K goldfill

What is really fun for me as an artist is to work with someone and come up with a completely new design! This cross bangles was created after several conversations with the delightful Emily Dinwiddie who writes Eleven Gables. She suggested a cross bangle that is "simple & affordable so that people can add more for their jingle. It's all about the stacked bracelet look." Perfect! 

Simple and elegant, the bangle features the beautiful budded cross which symbolizes the Trinity (or the 12 Apostles, depending on the history you choose). The budded cross may have its roots in early Celtic Druidry in which the 3 circles symbolized the sky, earth, and sea. The handstamped metal circle is soldered to the top of the bangle which has been hammered by hand. The resulting texture adds contrast to the smooth round of the other side. It should seem obvious to have a bangle recognizing what so many of our friends struggling with something that requires a ribbon emblem. Instead, it took 2 dear friends (they are patrons, really) to ask about a ribbon symbol for a 3rd friend diagnosed with breast cancer. The ribbon as a symbol raises awareness about a particular cause or health issue. Many of us are familiar with the pink breast cancer ribbon, the purple ribbon for Alzheimer’s disease, yellow ribbons for family members serving in the military overseas, and AIDS awareness. The first yellow ribbon was hung around trees in the 1970s by Penney Laingen whose husband was a hostage in Iran. Next was the red ribbon worn by Jeremy Irons for AIDS awareness. And one of the most iconic is the pink ribbon used as a show of support for those with breast cancer.
