Baroque Pearl silver Twizzle Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  These Twizzles are a slightly smaller and lighter weight version than our popular Twizzle Collection. The dangles drop about 1 1/4”from the ear.  These earrings have a lucious freshwater Baroque pearl suspended from the hand formed swirls.  The artist carefully pairs the pearls so they are as similar as possible given their Baroque nature. Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The wire is Argentium silver.

What is meaningful to you? Keep them close to your heart with the Bespoke necklace. A perfect gift, the long 14K goldfill chain necklace (approx. 28") is personalized with handcrafted Bespoke tags. Each character is individually stamped resulting in a necklace that is uniquely charming in its simplicity and imperfection - a beautiful every day heirloom bespoke piece! The necklace easily slips over one's head, and is perfect for layering with other necklaces, for example the Shooting Stars necklace in small, medium, or large chain. 

The necklace includes 3 "tags" with names (or meaningful words) stamped on one side. If you want additional tags, they are listed separately here for $20 each. Blue Chalcedony goldfill Twizzle Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 1/2" from the ear.  These earrings have a translucent blue chalcedony stone suspended from the hand formed swirls.  This faceted stone is a beautiful shade of sea blue- the color of blue you might find in Bahamian waters. The stones are natural and may vary from stone to stone. Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The gold wire is 14K gold-fill. The earrings Alex have a different stone dangling from the swirl. Coral Goldfill Swirl Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  These earrings feature a chunk of natural coral nestled between two vermeil Bali beads. The cora has a natural, porous surface and may vary from piece to piece. We try to put together the most similar stones and swirls to form a pair.  Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The gold wire is 14K gold-fill. (PS- the model is wearing different stones than the one offered here but the overall look is the same.)

Desert Sands Gemstone Encrusted Necklace

This 14k goldfill necklace features faceted citrine, smoky quartz, freshwater pearls, and shades of carnelian gemstones. It has a 14k goldfill lobster claw which will clasp the chain up to 19” long. It can also be shorter - for instance 16”” or 17” long.

Recently, I looked around the studio and took stock of how many gemstones, half-finished silver components, and gorgeous beads are neatly in boxes. Just sitting there. They deserve to be made into jewelry and their beauty celebrated! I'm already very careful with where I source my metals and stones (fair trade/sustainably mined) and realize I have a gold mine in my own studio! I'm challenging myself to think responsibly and source from ESN Studio.

Encapsulated Bald-faced Hornet silver necklace

The Bug Collection

There are not many creatures in nature who are essential to the survival of our species and agriculture, but the bees and other pollinators are. With so many diminishing populations of bees, what better way to celebrate their vital role in our ecosystem than a beautiful necklace that is bound to spark questions. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. You can read more about how to save our bees by taking a look at some non-profits involved in raising awareness about our vanishing bees including the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign, Asheville's Honey Bee Health Improvement Project, and Avaaz. 

The Bald-faced Hornet pendant hangs from a 26 1/2" chain. The hornet and ring drop 3" from the silver chain. The hornet pendant itself is 1 1/4" by 7/8" and is 1/2" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. This hornet was collected from our organic garden in Atlanta, GA. Each summer the Bald-faced Hornets build a huge paper nest in one of our oak trees. I think the white dots on this delicate creature make it one of the prettiest I've seen. The model is wearing another necklace from this collection.

A friend in Atlanta has bees in her organic garden, and I asked her to save the bees that die of natural causes. She laughed, "I've never been asked that before!" I love being able to celebrate this beautiful creature with a one of a kind necklace. This bee was collected from our organic garden in Atlanta, GA. Each piece in The Bug Collection is truly one of a kind. The handcrafted June beetle necklace is no exception. Found (dead) in our Atlanta backyard, this Cotinis Nitida necklace is made of Argentium silver, has a handcrafted toggle clasp, and hangs from an 18 1/2" chain.  The pendant itself is 1 1/4" tall, just over 1" wide, and is 3/4" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. Why bugs? My kids love to collect dead bugs and cicada shells for my "jewelry project," and I love these well-earned treasures. Growing up in the southern US, summer evenings were filled with the sounds of cicadas singing at night and chasing lightning bugs (yes, I know other people call them fireflies). I loved hunting for the cicada shells in the morning on the pine trees where they shed their larval stage shell and flew into the night. My own kids love to collect cicada shells for my "jewelry project," and I love these well-earned treasures. Dying bees outside my studio a few years ago inspired the entire Encapsulated Series. Perhaps the bees had just reached the end of their short lives, but I was struck by the intricate beauty of the bees scattered around under a Vitex tree. Instead of just sweeping them aside, I decided to create a special case for them and encapsulate their beauty forever in resin. I feel the same way about the cicadas. Their summer song delights us and I love honoring them with a necklace.

The cicada shell necklace hangs from a 27" chain. The cicada and ring drop 2 1/2"" from the silver chain. The cicada pendant itself measures 1" by 13/16" and is 1/2" deep. Frozen in resin and time, its beauty can be appreciated and admired. What is really fun for me as an artist is to work with someone and come up with a completely new design! This cross bangles was created after several conversations with the delightful Emily Dinwiddie who writes Eleven Gables. She suggested a cross bangle that is "simple & affordable so that people can add more for their jingle. It's all about the stacked bracelet look." Perfect! 

Simple and elegant, the bangle features the beautiful budded cross which symbolizes the Trinity (or the 12 Apostles, depending on the history you choose). The budded cross may have its roots in early Celtic Druidry in which the 3 circles symbolized the sky, earth, and sea. The handstamped metal circle is soldered to the top of the bangle which has been hammered by hand. The resulting texture adds contrast to the smooth round of the other side. Instead, it took 2 dear friends (they are patrons, really) to ask about a ribbon symbol for a 3rd friend diagnosed with breast cancer. In honor of our mutual friend, a portion of each of these bangles sold will benefit https://myturningpoint.org in Atlanta.

The ribbon as a symbol raises awareness about a particular cause or health issue. Many of us are familiar with the pink breast cancer ribbon, the purple ribbon for Alzheimer’s disease, yellow ribbons for family members serving in the military overseas, and AIDS awareness. The first yellow ribbon was hung around trees in the 1970s by Penney Laingen whose husband was a hostage in Iran. Next was the red ribbon worn by Jeremy Irons for AIDS awareness. And one of the most iconic is the pink ribbon used as a show of support for those with breast cancer.

This handcrafted Argentium silver necklace is the perfect gift for every woman on your list! These rings nest together like the “Russian ring” necklaces. Each ring is hand-formed, one area hammered flat, and each character individually stamped. The resulting necklace that is lovingly handcrafted and uniquely charming in its simplicity and imperfection. You can choose a silver necklace in 3 lengths: 16-18,” 18-20,” or 20-22.”

I’m speaking rectangle necklace

“I’m speaking.” My 11 year old daughter was watching the 2020 VP debates when she heard Kamala Harris say this to VP Pence who was interrupting her. My daughter looked at me and said, "SHE could be our next VP?!" She watched a woman standing up for herself amidst disrespectful interruptions. It’s a simple phrase, but unfortunately it is necessary for women to use this phrase to stop interruptions. A recent study (email me if you want citations) shows that male Supreme Court justices interrupt female SC justices 3 times more often than the reverse. And female SC justices are interrupted by male ATTORNEYS 3 times more often than male SC justices are. Other research is varied, but among coed play dates where 4 year olds know each other, boys interrupt girls 3 times more often. The interruptions increase as the number of boys in a group increases. As a mom, I’m teaching my daughter (the fantastic Jane Ellen) to speak up and be heard. Stop the interruptions and let’s listen to what each other is saying.

Lemon Quartz Goldfill Swirl Earrings

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  These earrings have a beautifully clear piece of lemon quartz stone suspended from the hand formed swirls. Because I’m a bit of a bead hoarder (#beadaddict 🙋‍♀️), I’ve had these gorgeous stones saved for something special for years. The “special” is these earrings! They have a unique barrel facet and are quite elegant. We try to put together the most similar stones and swirls to form a pair.  Because each pair is handcrafted, there may be slight variation in the swirl, stone, and size. The gold wire is 14K gold-fill. (PS- the model is wearing different stones than the one offered here but the overall look is the same.)

Twizzle

Each piece in this collection is a delightful combination of semiprecious stones and “twizzles” of silver or gold. What’s a twizzle? It’s a fantastic, funky shape that is created when silver or gold is forged, formed, hammered, smithed, and soldered with great imagination to create a unique work of art.

Nepalese Silver Necklace

This past summer, I met this wonderful man at a gem show. His parents were Tibetan but moved to Nepal when China took over in the 50s. He grew up in Nepal and sources beads from the artists there on his trips back. Karma was part of his name and it fit him perfectly.

I’ve paired these Nepalese beads with aventurine, turquoise, and faceted aquamarine stones. The length is variable and can be as short as 25” or as long as 36”.

Recently, I looked around the studio and took stock of how many gemstones, half-finished silver components, and gorgeous beads are neatly in boxes. Just sitting there. They deserve to be made into jewelry and their beauty celebrated! I'm already very careful with where I source my metals and stones (fair trade/sustainably mined) and realize I have a gold mine in my own studio! I'm challenging myself to think responsibly and source from ESN Studio.

Why is the bangle with 18K dot more expensive?  First, there is the actual cost of gold. Second, each gold dot is cut from wire, torched into a ball, and then flattened. Finally, attaching the dot to the bangle adds additional steps. But the added flexibility of wearing both gold and silver makes it extremely popular!

Each pair of earrings in this collection is unique and different.  The dangles drop about 1 3/4" from the ear.  These earrings have a slice of highly polished pyrite stone suspended from the hand formed swirls.  The pyrite is edged in gold-plate and is a perfect neutral to add pizazz to your wardrobe.
