Ceiling: Shattered necklace

English Norman

"une voûte de cristal impénétrable, casée"

A crystal ceiling, broken

Offer tribute to the many women whose years of effort dedicated to breaking the glass ceiling have today brought us beauty and possibility. These fragments of blue glass, encased in resin, reflect light, hope, and the potential for every one of our daughters to reach her aspirations.

In 1839, French feminist and author George Sand used a similar phrase, une voûte de cristal impénétrable, in a passage of Gabriel, a never-performed play: "I was a woman; for suddenly my wings collapsed, ether closed in around my head like an impenetrable crystal vault, and I fell...."

Shattered glass is encapsulated in resin. The larger pendant measures 1 1/2" by 1," and the smaller pendant measures 1" by 5/8." A silver bail is attached to the back of the pendant and dangles from a silver chain. Please note, the sterling silver necklace chain may vary slightly depending on what is in stock. Length options are 16-18” or 18-20” -English will email you after your order and confirm length and size of the pendant.

20% of sales from the I'm Speaking collection will be donated to The Georgia Postcard Project, an incredible effort by Tricia Gephardt and her amazing team of volunteers in over 30 states and across the state of Georgia to remind people that each voice and VOTE matters.
